How I lost a day..

Well, the 23rd of November started for me at 6.00am in London, and ended the following day at 5.00am in Mumbai. One long day it was, but I have had a very restful day today trying to beat the heat in Mumbai (and gearing up for a long day visiting my side of the family on the morrow). It doesn't look like Mumbai's having a gracious winter this year, definitely not while I'm going to be around at least. I'm here on a personal errand though, it could take me anywhere between two and three weeks to finish it off and head back to the city that could do with a warmer winter.

Anyhoo.. nostalgia smacked me hard in the face the moment I got off the plane. The sight of the first ceiling fan in almost a year and a half was breathtaking to say the least =) Then the continuous cacophony of hoots and honks, and a pack of stray dogs dangerously eying the car I was riding in were all that was required to bring me back to planet Mumbai. Ah! Mumbai.. and as if to seal the deal, I rolled down a window and got a strong whiff of some gobar.. Strangely delightful!

It's funny how the things you run away from all your life are the very first things you think of when you miss the place you've left behind. This city has an identity of its own - there's no place like home :)
