Kadakti heat

This is why people fall ill here.. The heat isn't nearly enough to give you a stroke, but when the temperature fluctuates like a pendulum from hot to chilly to windy, it is a sorry state of affairs for the weathercock.

On my way to the airport yesterday, despite being seated in a completely covered train on the Piccadilly line, I was exposed to what felt like scorching heat (from the sun, of course). The hour long journey reminded me of Mum's Date and Walnut cake, which requires the batter to sit for one long hour before being dunked into the oven to fend for itself. Heathrow airport is at a phenomenal distance from anywhere I am likely to be (living/ working/ socialising) in London, and since I am the Commute Queen, this is quite the usual way of life for me.

Anyway, I digress.

Yes, so the weather is le horriblement in this country, and it is driving me mental at the moment. I don't know what to wear anymore, (not like I have to choose from a closet full of clothing), but once you've taken to the no-jacket look, the wind comes back with a vengeance. I hope I don't catch a cold tomorrow, because as much as I'd like to sit at home, it is not very wise for me to do so when there is a conference looming in the horizon.

Any kind of loony weather invariably has an immediate and significant effect on my body. My limbs are protesting the effort I am making just to sit upright. Should I be popping more Vitamins, sleeping more or eating less? Damned if I would know!
