SO, I had to delete the Gmail account associated with this blog, about 5 years ago. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision which I have regretted about 5 million times ever since.
The incident itself (which prompted me to do what I think is probably the most drastic thing I've ever done in my life) is now an insignificant part of someone else's past. It doesn't even bother me anymore, but the fact that I lost that Gmail account along with all those people I've known in another era was quite disturbing. I've never been great at keeping in touch anyway and this, sort of, cemented my not-so-greatness in this area.
Well, all that is history now. I am going to try and re-establish my connections with some of these lost people right away, and some others at a later date when I have ample time. I may have to get off Twitter to make time, but that will be a blessing in disguise.
I've been trying to get into that Gmail account every time I log in to my blogspot. Granted that it hasn't been very often lately, but I've been disappointed every single time, until this morning.. This may seem a little OTT for someone else, but I'm mental with glee today! Just one look at the online contacts has reminded me (some of the good bits) of a younger me.
The number of sentences in this post that require paragraphs of justification is making me realize just how damaged I am. Maybe this little thing will set me free. I may* even blog more often now :)
*'May' because I've come to terms with my inability to make serious commitments to good things.
