Pleasant and unpleasant surprises

I've been reading some of my old posts from the age of the dinosaurs, and have been pleasantly surprised at my God-given talent (back then). Why, to be honest, I used to be one of the wittiest contemporary writers I've stumbled upon! I am, however, unpleasantly surprised at the quality of my present day writing, which seems to have nosedived into the truly dark and dingy depths of the creatively challenged..

I'm being told I must practice writing regularly and it will all come back to me (Geez, that reminds me of a Celine Dion song). I am getting a bit impatient though... It currently feels like a dried up well inside my head, and this is the most unpleasant feeling I've felt/ had in quite a while. Why it took me so long to get back to what I love doing the most is beyond me... If I lose this, I don't even have anyone else to blame! Bah!
