Rock On

I absolutely love Farhan Akhtar in general - the looks, the class and yes, even the voice. Especially the voice, actually. Yet this wasn't quite enough to prepare me for Rock on. I had no idea, absolutely no idea that this dream boat (DB) could act, and so well at that. I was under the impression that DB was probably the drummer or spot boy, I didn't know he had the lead role.

Anyway, noteworthy things about Rock On:
* The movie is about a bunch of guys - a band, actually, which split ten years ago because of inflated egos. (Men!) Anyway, that's the first half of the movie. The second half is about this disjointed band getting back together, the efforts initiated by DB's wife
* Lots of things happen during the course of the movie, it is afterall a very long movie
* Purab, as always, was charming and adorable
* Arjun Rampal felt like a showpiece you would only look at but not want to touch lest you break it and have to pay for it
* Prachi Desai is the female equivalent (of Arjun Rampal) applicable to the male audience, I suppose (I wouldn't know).
* Most of the demented songs were quite nice, especially Zehreele zehreele..
* This movie doesn't hit one like a brick on the head. It just serves one purpose, i.e. entertainment.
* Anu Malik was quite a laugh, complimenting originality in music
* The band was called "Magik". That's the only tragik bit..
